Quarantine coffee #4 - Colonna Coffee

During my summer bank holiday trip last year, I’ve missed the opportunity to visit Colonna and Small coffee shop - what I thought would be one of the finest coffee shops in England.

I don’t know why it took me so long to revisit Colonna as a roaster, but luckily, two weeks ago I decided to finally get the bag of each of their coffee tiers - rare, discovery, and “standard”.

And what a pleasant surprise it was - the website was easy to navigate and included convenient sampling packs (and subscriptions), and their coffees are incredible, to the point that they actually convinced our neighbours to buy into home specialty coffee.

Like Square Mile, they roast everything to order and coffees of each tier are seasonal. My discovery beans were from and rare ones from. The amazing thing is that they were roasted only 2 days before they were delivered to me -not a dismissible feat, when you consider the disruptions in the Royal Mail service.

So yes, an a+ recommendation from me on this one. In fact, I think I’m going to try out several more, so there likely won’t be another coffee post in some time…

Bellow you can find some shots from the impromptu cupping session last week.
