COVID Journal: Rebuilding London

When the lockdown started, I used my spare time to document the changes I saw in my environment, and in the city of London. On this particular Wednesday, I decided to shoot what seemed to be the only people I saw around: builders and property maintainers.

They were quite literally rebuilding London, whilst the rest of us stayed safe. In many ways, when I go to Soho today, it’s not the same place it was a year ago when some of these phots were taken.

This man didn’t want me to share his name, but said he was working on the street duty while the building on Conway Square was being renovated.

The workers use jet washes to strip the old colour from the building before applying the new one.

There is very little traffic in London these days, however, traffic still needs to be regulated every now and again. Today, he had a nice weather to sit back and relax.
