On memories and holiday marketing

A big reason for engaging in photography is to create and preserve memories.

For some reason, I still have this mental image of my parents having a slide projector and showing pictures from their trips to our friends and neighbours at one of our gatherings (even though I'm not sure if that actually happened). Every time I would visit our old apartment, I would dig straight into the fourth drawer to the right, where all my childhood pictures and memories were stored. Memories are such a big part of our lives, and losing them, as it is happening to a couple of loved ones right now, is devastating not just for them, but also for people around them.

Leveraging memories and the feeling of nostalgia has long been the theme advertising companies explore to great effect this time of year. And this year, Chevrolet has done an incredible job at making a point of that. So if you want to have your heart broken, and then warmed again, here is a little nugget of joy before the holidays.
