A few months ago, I’ve learned that Linkin Park is touring again and recording music, with a somewhat controversial choice of a replacement for Chester. Being a low-key fan of Dead Sara, I was intrigued. I knew Emily had an incredible vocal range, and her singing has, by her own admission, been inspired by Hybrid Theory.

The early singles were promising. I’ve really enjoyed their… synergy … for the lack of a better word. I’ve read somewhere that “she doesn’t sound like Chester; but she does sound like Linking Park”. And that summarised it better than I ever could.

And despite shitty seats, and the horrible acoustics of TD Garden, the concert was a LOT of fun. The new LP is not the same as the old one. But change can be good.

ofc, they haven’t played my favourite LP song; I didn’t expect them to (but still hoped they would)
