Sucuraj is a small port town on the island of Hvar. Thanks to kind friend I was able to spend 48 hours there, and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. Here is a short photo story about the town that gave us Mucalo.
You can arrive to Sucuraj in two ways: either a ferry from Split to Stari Grad (and then a 90min drive), or from Drvenik to Sucuraj directly.
Croatian ferries have a sort of rugged beauty.
First thing when arriving anywhere in Croatia: barbecue and rakija. Duje and Ana were showing us our way around on this trip.

One can spend evenings on the beach, looking at yachts passing by the channel.
Lighthouse is a most famous landmark of Sucuraj.
A lot of buildings have never been fully constructed. These types of buildings often hosted soldiers during the civil war. Sucuraj however, has stayed unaffected by the war in the 90s, therefore these might be just here due to construction running out of money.

Sunset in nature. Sucuraj and it’s surroundings are criss-crossed with wild paths. One should be careful as poisonous snakes can be found here as well.
